Brisket Cheesesteak - 2 Street Sammies

The exciting thing about food trucks is that you never know where they will pop up next. Some trucks have their regular spots, but most of them roam throughout the city and its surrounding neighborhoods, giving everyone the opportunity to try them out. I was thrilled when I saw that 2 Street Sammies, a food truck I had only just started following, would be at the Town Center in King of Prussia last week, just ten minutes from where I live.

2 Street Sammies is a veteran-owned and operated food truck, with a menu that focuses on Philadelphia classics, including cheesesteaks and sandwiches. I decided to order the first item on the menu, the Brisket Cheesesteak, with a side of Truffle Fries. I've had my share of classic Philly cheesesteaks, but I can't say I've ever had one with brisket before. I also wanted to try something a little different from what I typically order. After a short wait, my food was ready, and it was time to give it a try.

The Brisket Cheesesteak is served on a long roll filled with brisket, roasted garlic mayo, and mild provolone cheese. This is a massive cheesesteak, with plenty of meat to easily feed two people. The brisket was hot, juicy, and full of flavor. Provolone is often my go-to cheese on any cheesesteak that I order, for both the taste and the consistency. The cheese lined the entire interior of the roll, allowing you to taste it with every bite. There was just a hint of the garlic mayo, but it was enough to add its own unique flavor to the sandwich. As for the Truffle Fries, they were the perfect side for this cheesesteak. I don't often order parmesan cheese on my fries, but it was the perfect topping for these fries, adding its own distinct flavor. This meal reminded me why I love brisket and cheesesteaks.

2 Street Sammies may be a small food truck, but it's definitely worth checking out if you love Philadelphia food. This is a roaming food truck with a different location almost every day, so give them a follow on Instagram if you're interested in checking them out. I'm sure it won't be long before I'm ordering from this truck again.
